We at CGDAA understand how stressful these situations are along with the financial burden that accompanies them. Fortunately, there are resources and organizations that can provide assistance.
The Jeffrey Modell Foundation provides a program called “Roots & Wings”. It was established to provide travel, “Wings”, and related support, “Roots”, to families whose child has been identified with a potentially life-threatening Primary Immunodeficiency.
Angel Flight is composed of a group of pilots who help people in need by providing air transportation. Learn more about their services, under their patient information tab.
The Assistance Fund (TAF), an independent charitable patient assistance foundation, helps CGD patients and families face high medical out-of-pocket costs. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket costs for treatment, such as copayments, health insurance premiums, and incidental medical expenses, resulting from the condition.
Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) provides fundraising assistance to children who need a life-saving transplant. They do not charge for their services, and may put you in contact with the support you need. Find information or fill out their contact form.
Prioritizing health and safety is a vital part of our mission. As we saw with the pandemic and beyond, the importance of telehealth continues to rise. To help meet this demand, the CGD Association of America (CGDAA) has partnered with PCs for People, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing low-cost technology and internet to communities in need, especially those requiring access to telehealth services. Eligible individuals in the CGD community (e.g. patients or caregiver) can receive a FREE computer and internet hotspot with 12 months of service, offering access to a safe and convenient way of visiting the doctor. If you are part of the CGD community, check your eligibility by emailing us at info@cgdaa.org.
