Purpose of the Event:
Our Carrier Connection Conference will provide the latest in X-linked Chronic Granulomatous Disease research by CGD experts such as Dr. Jennifer Leiding of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and associate director for clinical research at the Institute of Clinical and Translational Research. She will be discussing the study on CGD carriers that was developed in collaboration with the CGDAA. You can review the study, published in “Clinical Immunology” here.
We will also have Julie Wells from Give An Hour, a top nonprofit dedicated to advancing wellness and therapy for rare disease community, talk about ways manage symptoms of trauma, anxiety, or depression that can associated with being a carrier of CGD.
This event aims to educate, inspire, and empower female x-linked carriers of CGD to learn about their symptoms so that they can prioritize their health and overall sense of wellness while connecting with others who share similar experiences. In addition, this inaugural event is designed to bring together carriers who were chosen for their creativity, inspiring journeys, and their support of the CGDAA as well as their leadership within their families and community. This will be an opportunity to discuss the future of the CGDAA and how we can develop meaningful programs for patients and carriers and grow.
